Brow Tinting NYC | Ombre Eyebrow Tint | Envious Lashes

The fastest brow upgrade on our menu is also the one clients say they can’t live without. Brow tinting gives your brows rich, dimensional color matched to your skin tone — Clementina’s signature Ombre Eyebrow Tint creates “the look of natural powdered brows,” without a pencil ever touching your face.

Here’s what to know before booking a brow tint in New York City.

What Is Brow Tinting?

Brow tinting is a semi-permanent color treatment for your natural brow hairs. A professional tint — custom-mixed to complement your skin tone and hair color — is applied through the brow, deepening every hair from root to tip. The fine, fair hairs at the edges of your brows suddenly become visible, which is why tinted brows read as fuller and wider without a single new hair.

Our signature Ombre Eyebrow Tint takes this further: color applied with a soft gradient — lighter at the head of the brow, deeper through the arch and tail — for the dimensional, “powdered” finish you’d otherwise build every morning with makeup.

Who Is Brow Tinting Best For?

A brow tint is an excellent choice if you:

  • Have fair, blonde, or red brows that disappear without makeup
  • Fill your brows with powder or pencil daily and want mornings back
  • Have visible sparse areas that color depth can soften
  • Just had a lamination and want dimension in the newly revealed fullness
  • Want a defined face for vacation — pool and ocean-proof, no makeup required

The Envious Lashes Tinting Process

Your stylist custom-mixes your shade — the goal is a brow that frames your face and complements your skin tone, never a flat block of color. The tint is applied precisely through the brow (this is where the ombre gradient is built), develops for a few minutes, and is removed. The whole appointment takes about 15 to 20 minutes, or folds into a lamination or shaping session.

Two dyes, your choice. We carry both types of professional brow tint: a traditional oxidative cream tint — the salon standard, developed with a gentle activator for the deepest, longest-wearing color — and a vegetable-based, plant-derived dye for clients who prefer a more natural formula or have sensitive skin. The plant-based option wears a touch softer and fades a little sooner, and for many of our clients that trade-off is exactly right. Tell us your preference — and any sensitivities — when you book, and your stylist will recommend the right formula for your shade and your skin.

How Long Does Brow Tinting Last?

Expect several weeks of color on the brow hairs themselves — fading gradually as your brows naturally shed and renew. Any soft tint on the skin beneath (part of that powdered effect) fades sooner, over the first week or so. Most clients re-tint every 4 to 6 weeks, often timed with their regular shaping appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is brow tinting safe?

In professional hands, yes — we use professional formulas intended for brows, custom-mixed and precisely applied. If you’ve reacted to hair color before, tell us when booking and we can patch-test in advance.

Will tinted brows look too dark?

Not the way we do it. The shade is mixed to complement your coloring, and the ombre application keeps the finish soft and dimensional rather than blocky. Fresh tint always reads slightly bolder on day one and settles within a couple of days.

Can I combine tinting with lamination?

It’s our most popular combination — lamination creates the shape and fullness, the tint adds depth and dimension, in one appointment.

How much does brow tinting cost in NYC?

Brow tinting is one of the most affordable treatments on our menu. Pricing by stylist level is listed on our eyebrow services page.

Where is your salon located?

Our salon is at 144 East 44th Street, New York, NY 10017 — in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, steps from Grand Central Terminal.
