Keratin Lash Lift NYC | Envious Lashes

Some of the most beautiful lashes we see in our salon aren’t extensions at all — they’re the lashes you were born with, finally living up to their potential. A keratin lash lift takes your natural lashes and gives them the curl, lift, and definition they’ve been hiding all along. At Envious Lashes — NYC’s award-winning lash salon — the lash lift is our favorite answer for women who want to wake up with open, lifted eyes and absolutely nothing to maintain.

Here’s everything you should know before booking your first lash lift in New York City.

What Is a Keratin Lash Lift?

A lash lift is a semi-permanent treatment that curls and lifts your natural lashes from the root — think of it as the lash equivalent of a professional blowout. Your lashes are gently shaped over a soft silicone shield, treated with a lifting solution that restructures the hair, then set into their new curl. We finish with a keratin infusion that conditions and strengthens each lash, which is what separates a true keratin lash lift from a basic “lash perm.”

As Clementina puts it: “A lash lift curls your lash from base to tip — so that you can see the full length.” The result: your own lashes, curled upward, looking longer and more defined — as if you were born with a perfect curl and a hint of mascara. No extensions, no adhesive, nothing added that needs refilling.

Lash Lift vs Lash Extensions

The two treatments answer different questions:

A lash lift works entirely with your natural lashes. It adds curl and openness — not length or density beyond what you naturally have. Zero day-to-day maintenance, and it grows out invisibly over 4 to 6 weeks. Best for women whose natural lashes have decent length but sit straight or point downward.

Lash extensions add individual synthetic lashes to yours — real added length and fullness, from natural-looking classic sets to dramatic volume sets. They require refills every 2 to 3 weeks.

Many of our clients alternate: extensions for event seasons, a lift as their everyday baseline. If you’re not sure which suits your lashes, that’s exactly what our consultation is for — and you can compare options on our lash lift services page.

The Envious Lashes Signature Lift Process

Every lash lift at our Midtown Manhattan salon begins with a consultation. Master Stylist Clementina Richardson and her trained team assess your natural lash length, strength, and growth direction, and — just as importantly — your eye shape. The size of the silicone shield we select is what determines your final curl: a smaller shield creates a dramatic, doll-like curl, while a larger one gives a softer, more natural bend. This is a styling decision, not a one-size-fits-all step, and it’s where experience shows.

The treatment takes about 45 minutes, and you’ll simply lie back with your eyes closed — most clients find it relaxing enough to doze off. Timing of the lifting solution is adjusted to your individual lash strength; over-processing is what gives lash lifts a bad name elsewhere, and it’s the thing our training is most uncompromising about.

And here’s the part our clients love: every keratin lash lift at Envious includes a complimentary lash tint and conditioning treatment. You leave with lifted and darkened lashes in a single appointment. (Curious about tinting on its own? See our lash tinting page.)

Who Is a Lash Lift Best For?

“Lash lifts are about enhancing what you already have,” Clementina says — “a low-maintenance way to make your eyes pop and enjoy a wide-eyed, refreshed look without the hassle of daily mascara or lash curlers.” A keratin lash lift is an excellent choice if you:

  • Have straight or downward-pointing natural lashes that hide their real length
  • Want to simplify your routine — no curler, less mascara, nothing to remove at night
  • Love a natural look and feel extensions would be “too much”
  • Want a break from extensions while keeping your eyes open and lifted
  • Have an active lifestyle — swim, hot yoga, workouts — extensions require more care around
  • Are looking for the lowest-maintenance treatment in the lash world

If your natural lashes are very short or sparse, a lift alone may not give you the fullness you’re picturing — that’s an honest conversation we’ll have at consultation, and extensions may serve you better.

How Long Does a Lash Lift Last?

A lash lift lasts 4 to 6 weeks — but let’s set the expectation honestly, because that’s how we do things here: your lashes won’t stay perfectly lifted for the entire stretch, and they’re not supposed to.

Your lashes live on their own natural growth cycle. Every day, a few of them complete that cycle and shed — taking their lift with them — while new, unlifted lashes grow in behind them. So the effect softens gradually: the first couple of weeks look fresh and full, and as the weeks go on you’ll notice some of the lift relaxing and a few natural lashes moving on. That’s not the treatment fading — that’s your lashes being alive and healthy.

When you look in the mirror and most of the lift has grown out, that’s your cue: it’s time to book your next appointment. Most clients settle into a natural rhythm of every 4 to 6 weeks.

For the first 24 hours, keep your lashes dry and mascara-free while the set fully cures; after that, live your life exactly as before.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a lash lift safe for my natural lashes?

Yes — when performed correctly. The lifting solution must be timed to your individual lash strength, which is why we never run lifts on a fixed timer. Our keratin finishing treatment conditions the lashes rather than leaving them stripped. Over-processed, frizzy lashes are the mark of rushed work, and it’s the specific thing every Envious stylist is trained to prevent.

Can I wear mascara after a lash lift?

Yes — after the first 24 hours. Most clients find they no longer want daily mascara, since the complimentary tint included with every lift adds that depth of color on its own — but mascara applies beautifully over lifted lashes for nights out.

How long does the appointment take?

About 45 minutes, with your eyes comfortably closed the whole time — and your complimentary tint and conditioning treatment happen within the same appointment.

Can I get a lash lift if I wear contact lenses?

Yes — we simply ask that you remove your lenses for the treatment and bring your case. Lifted lashes actually suit glasses- and contacts-wearers beautifully, since the curl keeps lashes from brushing lenses.

Lash lift or extensions — which should I choose?

If you want your lashes, curled and defined with zero upkeep — a lift. If you want added length and fullness beyond what you grow naturally — extensions. Your natural lash length is the deciding factor, and we’ll give you an honest recommendation at consultation.

How much does a lash lift cost in NYC?

Every keratin lash lift includes the complimentary tint and conditioning treatment — no add-on pricing games. Current pricing is listed on our lash lift & tinting services page and confirmed when you book.
